2nd Grade

Faith & Theology: Second graders focus on their preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist, while continuing to grow in prayer, knowledge of scripture, the formation of virtue, and their Catholic identity.

Science: Through observation and investigation, students explore the Earth's surface, including topics such as erosion, properties of matter, insects, plants, and biodiversity.

English Language Arts: Students continue building strong literacy skills through reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing, speaking, and research. They begin composing longer written responses and presentations while also developing greater independence as readers, writers, and communicators.

Social Studies: In exploring how communities function and grow, students examine the concepts of citizenship, community leadership, geography, economics, cultural traditions, and local history.

Mathematics: Students strengthen place value understanding, addition and subtraction strategies, measurement skills, data analysis, time, geometry, and mathematical reasoning.
