3rd Grade

Faith & Theology: Third graders continue growing in their Catholic faith through the study of the sacraments, virtues, prayer, and the lives of the saints. They explore different vocations and are encouraged to live out their faith through acts of service for others.
Science: Through hands-on experimentation and direct observation, students investigate weather and climate patterns, forces and motion, and the life cycles of plants and animals.
English Language Arts: Students transition into chapter books and learn cursive handwriting—a milestone that supports fine motor development and memory retention—while deepening reading comprehension and paragraph composition skills. They expand their research and presentation skills, building confidence as readers, writers, and communicators.
Social Studies: Students study Oregon geography, government, and economics while learning about their local communities and history, developing an understanding of how their state and local community function.
Mathematics: Students build fluency in multiplication and division, explore fractions, and apply measurement and area concepts. Through hands-on activities, they strengthen problem-solving and graphing skills.
